Sign Up To Be A Poll Worker

Updated: Mar 14

If you’re looking for a way to contribute to defeating Donald Trump, sign up to be a Poll Worker during Early Voting or on Election Day! In order to have a sufficient number of polling locations available to ensure our neighbors are able to cast their votes as easily as possible, Dallas County needs a significant number of Poll Workers (which is a paid position).

Early Voting is October 13 - October 30. Hours are:

Oct 13 - 17: 7:00am - 7:00pm

Oct. 18: 1:00pm - 6:00pm

Oct. 19 - 24: 7:00am - 7:00pm

Oct. 25: 1:00pm - 6:00pm

Election Day is Tuesday, November 3. Poll workers typically report to their polling location at 5:30am, and they stay until all reports are run and machines are loaded, which could be as late as 10:00pm. Some judges may allow two clerks to split the schedule. Pay has been $16.00 per hour for clerks in general elections; however, this amount has not been confirmed for 2020.

Until we know how many poll workers have signed up, we won’t know the exact number of polling locations. But we do know this: the more polling locations available, the more opportunities for voters to cast their ballots to elect Joe Biden and Kamala Harris!

Interested? Complete the Dallas County Elections Poll Worker information sheet:

And also complete the form on Dallas County Democratic Party website:

You can sign up to volunteer during Early Voting, on Election Day, or both.

If you sign up to work Election Day, you just submit the online forms and you will receive an email several days later saying they have you on the list.

To sign up for Early Voting, you must make an appointment on-line to appear at the Elections Office and supply appropriate ID and complete paperwork. You normally have to work every day. Half day shifts have generally been available in the past; however, this hasn’t been confirmed for 2020.

To be a poll worker for Early Voting or Election Day, you must complete training on site at the Elections Office. Those dates have not been announced yet, but continue checking dallascountyvotes.org

This election is about changing course and disrupting the status quo. Even if you’ve never

volunteered before, this is the time to rally your neighbors and actively participate in
